MATERIAL SELECTION

I chose to use the materials of wood, dark concrete and glass in my model to create a contrast between the soft playfulness of the curved motif. Wood and concrete are both extremely strong materials used to create everlasting and reinforced objects. Glass is sharp and brittle. The stubbornness and assertiveness of these materials contrast the warmth of the rounded model, creating interest and meaning. The end result is a gallery showroom space that is fluid in its architecture, yet defined in its materials and exhibits. This is what creates excitement and finesse in my model.
